Our Practice Philosophy
If you are visiting our site, you are likely searching for answers to ease your own pain or that of a family member, friend, or colleague. Fortunately, for the vast majority of patients that come to our offices, the problems we are asked to solve are common, familiar, and helpable. However, years in practice have made it clear that some TMJ and Orofacial Pain problems are complex and have no easy answer.
As a result, for many patients, visits to both physicians and dentists often led to unsuccessful treatment, misdiagnosis, or comments that, despite complaints of pain, “nothing was wrong.” As a result of searching unsuccessfully for a diagnosis and helpful treatment, many patients arrive at our offices stating, “you are my last hope,” and looking for answers.
- What is causing my pain?
- Is there something seriously wrong?
- How can I get relief?
- Will I ever be pain-free again?
- How drastic is the treatment to provide relief?
- How long will treatment take?
- Why have I been told that there is nothing wrong?
These questions are often difficult to answer, but no matter what your circumstance, we are empathetic listeners who will spend time to understand who you are and your history of suffering. Our goals have remained constant: to allay fears, educate, validate your pain, and provide practical and evidence-based care to address your pain.
We feel privileged to have gained the trust of patients and the dental and medical community in the New York City metropolitan region. We look forward to an opportunity to guide you down a path of pain relief.
